SecureMarket

Terms of use

Last updated: 29 July 2026

1. Who we are, and what you're agreeing to

SecureMarket (securemarket.co.za, “the Platform”) is operated by SecureGrid (Pty) Ltd (2026/375707/07), of No 3 Watersedge, Eagles Landing, Hartebeespoort, North West, 0216 (“SecureGrid”, “we”). By creating a profile, posting a job, or using the Platform you agree to these terms and to our Privacy & POPIA notice. If you’re accepting for a company, you confirm you’re authorised to bind it.

2. What SecureMarket is (and isn't)

The Platform connects job-seekers in the South African security industry with companies that are hiring — with verification on both sides: seekers’ PSIRA details are checked against PSIRA’s records, and companies are PSIRA-checked businesses. SecureGrid is the platform, not the employer and not a party to any employment relationship formed through it. We don’t guarantee any seeker a job, or any company a candidate.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older, able to work in South Africa, and legally able to enter contracts. Companies must be lawfully registered and, where the law requires it for security services, PSIRA-registered.

4. Accounts

Keep your sign-in details secret and your information true, current and complete. One profile per person; company access only for authorised staff. Tell us at info@securemarket.co.za if you suspect misuse.

5. Job-seeker commitments

Your profile, qualifications, skills and experience are self-declared — declaring them truthfully is a condition of using the Platform. Companies rely on them (some jobs are gated on requirements). Only add references who have agreed to be contacted. Upload only documents that are yours and lawful. Misstated PSIRA details, qualifications or documents can mean suspension and, for verification fraud, referral to the authorities.

6. Company commitments

Candidate information reaches you only for recruiting for the role applied to (or, with candidate-search visibility, roles you’re actively filling). Under POPIA you become a responsible party for what you receive: use it for recruitment only, keep it secure, don’t resell, share on, scrape or build databases from it, and delete it when the recruitment purpose ends. Job posts must be real, lawful vacancies with honest requirements (requirement-gating included), lawful remuneration information, and no unfair discrimination beyond inherent requirements of the job. Exported CVs are audit-logged.

7. Plans, billing and refunds

Parts of the Platform are paid (job-seeker plans; company billing). Payments are processed by PayFast; we don’t store card numbers. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; cancelling stops the next renewal. Statutory refund rights (including under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies) are unaffected. We may change prices with reasonable advance notice.

8. Acceptable use

No unlawful use, no harassment or abusive content, no false or misleading information, no impersonation, no malware, scraping, bulk-harvesting or reverse engineering, no interfering with verification, and no using the Platform to discriminate unlawfully. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.

9. Verification, PSIRA and "verified both ways"

Verification reflects PSIRA’s records at the time we checked. Status can change; verification is a good-faith check, not a warranty of anyone’s identity, honesty or suitability. Companies remain responsible for their own hiring diligence (interviews, vetting, reference checks); seekers remain responsible for the accuracy of what they declare.

10. Content and intellectual property

You keep ownership of what you upload and grant us a licence to host, process and display it to operate the Platform (e.g. showing your application to the company you applied to). The Platform, its brand, design and software are ours; don’t copy them.

11. Availability and changes

We work hard on reliability but the Platform is provided “as is” — we can’t promise uninterrupted or error-free service, and we may change, add or retire features. We’ll flag material changes.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that South African law doesn’t allow to be excluded. Subject to that: we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss (including lost profits or lost employment opportunities), for the conduct of seekers or companies toward each other, or for decisions made in reliance on verification; and our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or R1,000 if you paid none).

13. Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time (see the Privacy notice for what happens to your data). We can suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, commit fraud, or create risk for other users — with notice unless the risk is immediate.

14. Law and disputes

South African law governs these terms; the South African courts have jurisdiction. Talk to us first — most problems are fixed at info@securemarket.co.za.

15. General

If a clause is unenforceable the rest stand. Not enforcing a clause isn’t a waiver. We may update these terms; continued use after the updated date means acceptance; material changes are flagged in-product. These terms + the Privacy & POPIA notice are the whole agreement between us about the Platform.
